JEFF LANE – A FOOT IN 2 CAMPS

With 40 years of turf experience, Jeff Lane has earnt his reputation as a First-Class Turf Specialist. But these days, Jeff finds himself with a foot in two camps. 

Firstly, as a trusted adviser and Sales Agronomist for Living Turf, and secondly as a Golf Course Consultant & Designer for Greenspace 4D.

Jeff Lane’s talent for Sales agronomy comes from learnt experience, having led Turf Management teams as a Golf Course Superintendent at iconic courses including Joondalup, Gosnells, and Paradise Palms. Now based in Perth, Jeff has close family ties in Sydney, where he started his career in Turf Management as an apprentice with Balgowlah Golf Club. In fact, it was 1986 that Jeff decided to make Perth his home, and that of his wife Cindy who herself is a world-renowned illustrator and artist. It appears artistry and design are in the Lane family.

It goes without saying that Jeff knows turf, but what might surprise is his skill as a Golf Course & Greenspace Designer. This skill has been demonstrated most thoroughly at The Springs Golf Club Perth (Armadale Golf Course), where Jeff has guided the city through a full redesign and reconstruction, which not only has made the club more profitable and fit for purpose but was featured in Golf Australia Magazine for its innovative design.

Jeff’s eye for design might be in part attributed to his own low scoring golf game, and in part to his knowledge of turf management, but we think Jeff artistic flair emanates from home.  Whatever the source of Jeff’s inspiration for design, there are smatterings of it all over Perth now, at Joondalup, Seaview, Secret Harbour, Point Walter, Wanneroo, and Nedlands Golf Clubs.

And now that Greenspace 4D has officially entered the Turf Design and Consulting landscape, Jeff’s talents are available to turf operations far beyond the borders of WA.
